E-rate

Virtucom has been an E-rate provider since the inception of this federally funded program in 1998.

E-Rate is the commonly used name for the Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund. It is administered under the direction of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

This program was designed to ensure that all eligible schools and libraries have affordable access to modern telecommunications and information services. Discounts for support depend on the level of financial need and the urban/rural status of the population served.

Discounts can be applied to commercially available telecommunications services, internet access, and internal connections. Eligible services range from basic local and long distance phone services, internet access services, to acquisition and installation of equipment to provide internal connections.
