In February 2004, Virtucom rolled out our custom-built Work Order Managment system, or WOS. This centralized database of our customers allows us to manage
and track work order requests. Customers can easily communicate issues to us via Internet
Explorer or any compatible web browser. With filters to show only needed information, the
system is secure and private.
Virtucom WOS also has the ability to generate reports in standard Word format.
Recently, we released Version 2.0 of WOS.
The search feature has been
updated so that when a computer
has a problem, we can
simply type in the serial number
and view the history of that
machine to help us troubleshoot
the issue faster.
We've also added real time
charting to provide Districts
with the most current data on
work orders. The work orders
are categorized into groups
such as Elementary, Middle,
High, Administrative and Other.
While the bar chart shows hard
numbers, you can also view the
data in a pie chart to see percentages
. The graphs can be drilled
down to view more detail by
clicking on a bar or pie slice. This
reveals the open and closed
work orders per school/office.
Also, in response to user requests,
we've updated the user
interface to be more intuitive
and feature rich as well as updating
the database engine to increase
stability and performance.
The serial number field is now
displayed with work orders on
the front page, and a confirmation
email is sent when a work
order is entered. Unnecessary
fields have been removed, and
the entry form has been redesigned
to prevent the phone number
field from being overwritten.
Finally, as the internet becomes
more security aware, we have
implemented tighter security
utilizing encryption to protect
the data so that we can deliver
information to you in a convenient
yet secure fashion.
We will continue to improve our
WOS and look forward to hearing
your suggestions.
